The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday evening. The athlete was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital arrives after the sports world offered its support for the star in the following the devastating accident.
