Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match winning run came to an end by Sunderland before the global break, however can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, against AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's new album, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Football and Family Life

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his wife his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football team," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be fairly close, however. Burnley are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only on the road victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their past four games.

My son advised me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
